The world is like a book and those who do not travel have not even read the first page...
April 2013.
To make this possible, we bought our first motorhome (Hobby Van 500 Exclusive) in September 2012, which is designed so that you can also be on the road for longer periods. Until then, however, we had to be a little patient. Because to travel in winter with the motorhome was not our intention. So it first went into winter storage.
On March 1, 2013 it was then serious. The camper was taken out of winter storage and equipped with everything needed for a trip of several days. We familiarized ourselves with the various functions and operation. The fresh water system was filled, flushed and then emptied again until we were sure that only clean drinking water was in the tank and in the pipes.
On Thursday, March 7, 2013, we set out on our first, short trip in cold, wet weather and sometimes frosty temperatures.
On this website we want to offer our family, our friends, our acquaintances and other motorhome drivers the opportunity to follow our travels and share our experiences. We are usually constantly online, also on the road and will try to report as timely as possible. Anyone who would like to comment on our reports or has suggestions is invited to contact us via the "Comments" link. If you would like to be notified when we put new reports online, all you have to do is click on the envelope icon at the bottom right and fill out the form.
After four years now, the curiosity to travel and the fun of the motorhome has not diminished a bit. Since we want to continue this motorhome life for many years, we decided in 2016 to buy a new motorhome. Our Hobby Van T500 was getting on in years. In the middle of the year, we ordered our new Dethleffs Trend T7057 EB, which we could then pick up from the dealer (Caravan Wendt in Kremmin near Grabow) on October 27, 2016. We are now very satisfied after some acclimatization difficulties. More details on the page " Our motorhome".
Four years we were also on the road with the Dethleffs Trend, then we decided to buy again a new motorhome (spring 2020), a model that is also suitable for travel in winter. After some confusion in the purchase negotiations, the choice finally fell on an Eura Profila T 695 EB. Again with single beds, but 42 cm shorter and thus a bit lighter, giving us more payload within the 3500 kg. More details on the page " Our camper".
Seit Ende April 2020 sind wir im EURA unterwegs. Wie es uns damit ergeht, könnt ihr unter der Rubrik “Reiseberichte“ nachlesen.
This blog is read by a lot of people, we can see that from the visitor statistics. This motivates us to continue. The blog is meant to animate. To become better, we depend on your feedback. At the bottom of each page is a comment field and we really want to ask you to use it. Because we want to hear your opinion. So, don't be shy, we are looking forward to it.
Anne and Frederick

Dear Anne, Dear Frederick,
thank you for your blog about traveling with the camper. It is very helpful and gives one the desire to be on the road with the motorhome.
Dear Anne, dear Frederick. I stumbled across your blog just recently because I was looking for a pitch for Helsingborg. We go this year for the 2nd time to Sweden. This time, however, with our own WoMo, have us last year a large Dethleffs Trend 7778-2 treated. I find your site super informative and attractively designed. I will now also look at you more often, because we are now also always looking for inspiration for new trips. We are still traveling with children, so not everything is certainly 1:1 transferable. But as I said, your reports are very beautifully written and make you want to go on vacation. Keep it up!
LG Antje
Super written and informative article :-). A very good lineup. In this blog I will still read properly
Dear Anne and Frederick, This is Keith and Christine and we enjoyed meeting you both in Traben-Trarbach. We have just caught up with your blog and look forward to reading much more when we get home. You are doing a fine job at recording and sharing your adventures. Since we saw you we have followed the Rhine and into the Black Forest and then into Bavaria and then crossing Austria and Switzerland into Italy. Today we are back in Switzerland before we think about heading home through France. The lakes in north Italy are beautiful and you must put them into your future plans. The north end of Lake Como was lovely but I think in the busy season it would be a bit more stressful. Anyway, lovely to meet you and look forward to reading more. That might give us ideas for our future trips. Best wishes Keith and Christine
Dear Christine and Keith, what a pleasant surprise hearing from you. See what can come of a chance meeting like our's in Traben-Trarbach. anyway, thank you for commenting so nicely about our blog. How did you manage to read the German text, though? Great trip you had, but a lot within a short time. But thanks for the tip. Lake Como is certainly on our wish list. We are off housesitting to Cornwall next Monday (with our normal car) for a month. In July it's off to Poland and the Baltic countries with the Motorhome (10 weeks or so). What are your plans?
Best regards
Anne and Frederick
Dear Annie and Frederick, I am not so clever to be able to read your blog in German but that nice Mr Google asks I follow I want to read it in German or English. I have say that the translation seems pretty good. Best wishes Keith. By the way we are now in Alsace at Eguisheim and hoping it stops raining soon 🙂 We had a very nice day in Freiburg, yesterday
Dear Anne, dear Frederick
Don't be surprised about too few comments. I know this from our blog.
The posts I've read here so far have all been super interesting.
I, and I'm sure many others, just enjoy it without adding (m)any mustard.
Here's to an eventful, healthy new year !
Greetings, Michael
Hello Anne and Frederick,
Thanks for the effort you put into your blog!
Unfortunately, the link doesn't seem to work for you to address your acclimation difficulties with the trend.
I'd be interested to hear about it.
I'll stay tuned and try again occasionally.
Greetings from the neighboring county
Link works again 🙂
I am surprised that you are not allowed to drive more than 3.5to.
Do not you have Kl.3 or today C1? The B license is rather ne children's disease, I guess you so that you had the license before 1999.
Happy New Year!
The page did not like a PHP change (coding). I have corrected this now. Therefore the link works again. With the driver's license it behaves in such a way that I do not pass the eye test for the C1 and was therefore limited to 3.5t. Unfortunately, nothing to do, although I have already tried quite a few things. But thanks for your interest. Greetings still.
Moin,
just stumbled across your blog and what's the first thing I notice?
OH on the camper.
Since I greet but from a village near Heiligenhafen.
And now I'm going to plow through the blog.
Greeting Peter
Moin Peter,
then let us know if you like the blog. Have fun reading.
Greetings
Frederick
Of course, of course. It's only natural, given all the effort that goes into a blog like this.
I will be in touch.
Greetings Peter, also with Dethleffs on the road 😉
Moin you both,
the winter was not long enough to read everything. But what I could read was very nice and informative!
Keep it up!
As I could read, it comes also with you sometimes differently than thought - how reassuringly
I hope you get on in Segeberg and as planned in the vacation?
Thanks for the blog and the effort involved.
Greeting Peter
Hello you two, now we follow your travels and reports for some time and we are happy about your experiences, but we always get ideas for our own trips. We bought our first camper (Knaus Sky Ti 650 MEG) this year in April and were on the road for a total of about four months. In the past year I was still working and could profit from accumulated overtime and vacation days. In the meantime, the pension notice has arrived, so my retirement is more or less official.
We are looking forward to the new year, have already eagerly made plans, although, plans when WoMo travel are actually only declarations of intent 🙂 We have experienced this ourselves this year. We drove to Koserow on the Baltic Sea, wanted after a few days then to Fischland Darß/Zingst and then further to the Elbe to Dresden. But, it was in May, there was heavy rainy weather everywhere in Germany for a long time, only at the Baltic Sea, exactly where we were, the sun shone, for almost three weeks. We stayed there, of course.
In the meantime our Knausi is winterized and in March we will start again. Where to? Let's see...Our home is the southern Münsterland, Haltern am See exactly, so pretty central for shorter trips.
We enjoy "independent" travel, always have the bikes with us (we used to do bike trips) and my guitar often sounds in the evening in front of the WoMo. An epitome of romance? For us yes...
We wish you a peaceful and contemplative Christmas and a new exciting year, which we will follow eagerly, if you report.
Anita & Jürgen
Hello Anita and Jürgen, we were very pleased about the nice comment. Your philosophy seems to be very similar to ours. We have just bought our second motorhome (this time a new one), because we hope to be able to travel with it for many years to come. I have been practicing on the guitar for a year now and have it with me all the time. I still don't dare to play it in front of the motorhome, but I'm making progress. From the beginning of April we'll start again, first Hungary, then Slovenia are the rough plans. Maybe we run into each other. LG- Anne and Frederick
Hi Anita and Jürgen, If you want to be notified when we put new reports online, just click on the envelope icon (bottom right on our website http://www.anneundfrederick.de) and fill out the form. Then you will always be informed.
Love greetings

Hej,new attempt : We are still on the road and have followed your reports.Especially we are happy about the successful Womi sale. Even we landed on Römö, and since the summer comes back, we stay until Thursday with Radfahrenund lazy. Then slowly towards Fredrikshamn to the ferry ca. 13.9. Our Hymi runs quite fantastic, maintenance in Meissen and SAT -dish in Flensburg, vacation at its best. Kind regards Harald and Bettina
Hey, that sounds great. We're delighted that you're having so much fun with the Hymer. Where are you in Römö? Maybe we can visit you there. Kram Anne och Frederick
